So you guys know that I've been a mess since second daughter Olivia moved away to college. I miss baby girl. I feel like a wuss when I say it because she's only 14 miles away (according to my Find My Friends app). It's like I said before, I'm used to having her around me. You know I love my family. I've never made that a secret. This past Saturday, Olivia had a long day. She had to work (yes she has a job), she got soaked from the early morning rain. Then she had dance practice in the afternoon. That evening, her theatre class went to see some play, followed by dinner for all the students at her teacher's house. In college, are they teachers or professors? Anyway after that, she went back to her dorm. It was like 11:30pm. She called and said she was in her dorm. She said her roommate went home for the weekend and would be back Sunday evening. Olivia said it was boring. I told her if she wanted to come home, just say the word. She said that would be nice. Bam. It's a done deal. So I got up from my bed, got dressed and was going to pick her up. My wife told me, "You know you're pathetic right?" She said back when she was pregnant with Olivia she had cravings and asked me all the time to get her whatever late at night and I always said no. I was like, "Yeah, so what's your point?" Now I haven't slept well in the almost 6 weeks she's been living on campus. I mean I'm up until at least 3am. I can't relax. I'm working through it. Bringing her home would mean she's under my roof and I will sleep like a baby. Who wouldn't make that deal? My wife just laughed and shook her head. She understands though. She gets me. And she's right. I am pathetic. But I slept like a baby.
