Knoxville, TN (WBIR/CNN) - A University of Tennessee fraternity has been suspended for a month.
The move follows a bizarre incident over at the frat house over the weekend that landed a student in the hospital.
A group of members have allegedly engaged in a practice involving so-called alcohol enemas.
UT's Greek community is at a loss for words. Police have information that's disturbing and centers around a fraternity house.
Around 1:30 a.m. Saturday police say an unresponsive UT student was dropped off at UT Medical Center.
Investigators like the student with the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.
Several people, including three passed out males were found inside the fraternity house.
Police believe members of the fraternity used "alcohol enemas." The technique heightens the level and speed of alcohol entering the blood by bypassing the liver filtering process.
Nobody at the house would comment on the incident.
University police say no charges have been filed. They're trying to determine if the technique was self-administered or a case of assault or hazing.
The Pi Kappa Alpha house will now be empty for 30 days.
The hospitalized student, identified as 20-year-old Alexander Broughton, has been discharged.
When he was admitted for treatment, authorities say he had a blood alcohol level of more than .40.
