If you’re going to launch a new era, do it with the best.
Prince covers the newly unveiled Jan. 26 issue of Billboard magazine.
The legendary musician will be receiving the Icon award at this year’s Billboard Music Awards on May 19, where he is also scheduled to perform. Late last year, Prince released the new single “Rock and Roll Love Affair” putting fans worldwide in a frenzy of anticipation for a new album soon.
Not only is the "Purple Rain" singer on the cover, his feature launches a brand new era for Billboard, which includes a re-tooled magazine, access to issues via iPads, and a soon to be unveiled revamped website.
"The music industry is a dynamic place, and this book will serve your information needs more than ever, going deeper into the trends, technologies and ideas shaping your decisions. If you don't learn something that will help your business in every issue, we aren't doing our jobs," Billboard editorial director Bill Werde says in an editor's letter located within this issue.
Expect more from Billboard, including the full cover story on Prince, later this week.
