Life can be crazy. Especially in these tough economic times, life is real crazy for a lot of us. And when life gets crazy, many things come along with that and one of them is stress. So how do you handle it? Often times, stressful situations are unavoidable, so whether its stress from your job, at home or in your finances, it’s important to learn how to deal with stress so that it doesn’t affect you negatively.
You can learn how to live in stress if you have to, but the key is to not allow the stress to live in you. I deal with stress on a regular basis so I’ve have had to learn how to deal with it in order to maintain peace and productivity in my life. I have several techniques that I use to manage stress and the first one is prayer. I find that when I talk it over with God, I walk away feeling emotionally lighter, more at peace and more prepared to handle whatever else may come my way. Here are the others...
Meditation
- Simply put, meditation is a means of transforming the mind. Meditation is a three step process that leads to a state of consciousness that brings serenity, clarity, and bliss. Click here to learn more! http://www.meditationsociety.com/what.html
Affirmations
- In addition to that, I write down and speak out loud positive daily affirmations. Affirmations are statements that you declare to be true and are a great way to re-program your thought patterns. You’d be surprised at how helpful speaking positive affirmations over your life can be. After a period of time consistently speaking them, you begin to feel more empowered and more capable of overcoming any obstacles that are in your path. Never forget that it’s not the circumstance that dictates how you feel, it is your thoughts about the circumstance that dictates how you feel. Your perspective is the factor that determines your emotional state. Because of this, it is so important that you control your thoughts. You choose how you deal with life issues based upon how you choose to view what is happening. I know it’s not easy to change how you think and how you see life, and it certainly won’t happen over night. But with consistent meditation and positive affirmations, you will begin to re-program your mind to think in a more positive and confident way, therefore equipping you to better manage the stressful times in your life because you will have a more positive view on what the outcome will be.
Have Fun!
- Finally, do something fun, enjoyable and relaxing to ease your mind and body. It always helps to place your focus and attention elsewhere, if only for a little while. Exercise, getting a massage, unwinding in a hot tub, reading a book, or simply getting a manicure or pedicure can help. Trying something different also helps because of the excitement that is generated at that thought of doing something new. Whatever you do to manage your stress, just make sure that it is healthy for you and for those around you. -love, sj
