I stopped and told life that I wanted more from it. Life kept on moving and told me that it can only give me back what I put in. What you have is a result of what you have given. If you want more, you have to give more. There’s no other way around it. If you want to strengthen your relationships, you have to give more love, time and effort in nurturing those relationships. If you want more money, you have to give more of your time, skill, and talents and yes, give more money. If you want better grades, you have to give more time, effort and study. If you want a promotion, you have to give more of whatever that will take.
The more you give, the more you get. If you give little, you will receive little. Those who give a lot, receive a lot. I have learned from experience that a great way to help your self in any situation is to give whatever you can give, with pure intentions. If you need more love, give more love. If you’re feeling down, cheer someone else up and it will automatically lift your spirits. This has happened to me on several occasions. I may be feeling down or confused about a situation that I’m dealing with and then a friend calls needing advice. After talking to the person and helping them with their situation, not only do I end up feeling better, but I usually end up solving my own problem while helping them solve theirs. Same with money; I am a giver and don’t mind giving and I’ve noticed that money always comes to me, and I attribute that to the fact that I’m always giving it. Whatever we give always comes back in one form or another at some point in time.
Good or bad, we get what we give. We reap what we sow. We get out what we put in. Try it today. Make an investment into any aspect of life, be it yours or someone else’s and you will eventually see a return. It’s a universal law. Also, I think if we understood this better, we would be less hurtful to others. Whatever you do to someone else, will also be done to you. There’s no way around it. If you are a dishonest person who robs and steals, you have good reason to watch your back because it’s going to happen to you at some point. Likewise, if you are kind and generous, you will receive kindness and generosity from others in return. I think a lot of our problems stem from bad karma; we are receiving what we’ve given in the past.
A lot of us are dealing with hellish situations because we are paying for something we’ve done. I’ve experienced this too. I’ve done some terrible things in my past but when I learned better, I began to do better and I changed my ways. Years after I turned my life around, several bad things happened to me seemingly out of nowhere. The instances were almost identical to what I had done to someone else. And in those moments, a clear mental picture of what I had done came to mind and I knew that I could do nothing but deal with the situation because it was time to pay the piper. You can’t run or hide, you will reap what you sow…so, sow nothing but good! I stopped and told life that I wanted to see something different. Life kept on moving and told me that it can only show me the reflection in the mirror. ~love, sj
