(sr.com)With MTV’s, VH1’s and BET’s minimized music programming, the rising mogul Nick Cannon saw a void and jumped on the opportunity to fill it.
Sources are saying that Nick Cannon has purchased the rights in a multi-million dollar deal for the classic Soul Train franchise and plans on revamping the show for a modern twist to bring music (especially soul music) back to television. Reportedly, the deal is so huge that the source says Nick “now owns everything but Don Cornelius’ remains."
No official announcement has been made, but Cannon is a media mogul who has ties with Teen Nick, MTV and NBC…the idea isn’t so far-fetched.

Health care advocate Michelle Katz joined up with the ABC News team and Doug Hirsch, the CEO of the popular app GoodRx to demonstrate how people can cut their prescription bills in half.
According to Hirsch, although the Food and Drug Administration monitors the products, the agency does not regulate price, so consumers have to pay whatever the pharmacy charges — at times a 20 percent to 80 percent price difference for the same drug.
How the app works is patients can type in their needed prescription drug and their location, and the app will look for coupons as well as the best price for the drug in their area. Patients then can download the coupons to their smartphone or print them out from the GoodRx website. The app also provides the pharmacy’s number and gives directions on how to get there.
.
The app was able to save one family $2,280 on their annual medication costs.

A new study in the journal Diabetologia suggests that reducing your sitting time is more important in lowering your risk of diabetes than exercise. This is just the latest in a string of research suggesting that moving around helps your health.
"It looks as if just sitting for long periods of time has a real negative impact upon overall health," said study author Joseph Henson.
The increase in diabetes is obvious in the United States. The number of people with diagnosed diabetes went from 5.6 million to 20.9 million from 1980 to 2010, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This disease is also a huge driver of health care costs in the U.S., according to the American Diabetes Association.
As has been demonstrated in other studies, taking breaks from sitting appears to be associated with better health indicators.
"Trying to move for 5 minutes every hour seems right," Henson said.
