For over three decades “Sylvester the Cat” has blown up the St. Louis Radio market with style and personality. He continually dominates the top afternoon weekend show on the new Majic 100.3.

Sylvester had paid his dues, and he wasn’t an overnight success. For a young man, Sylvester had an extensive record collection, and he used that music as leverage to get the first big break in his career. The radio personalities needed Sylvester’s music. He needed an opportunity to move from street jock to air jock. The big-time jocks got their music, Sylvester got his big on-air break. To this day, Sylvester the Cat’s record collection is considered legendary by this radio associates and his audience.

The ‘Cat’ further demonstrated his versatility when he began working as Majic’s music research director and as a radio personality for KATZ.

But radio isn’t this St. Louis native’s only interest. For years, he’s been a career politician. Currently, he leads the City of Pine Lawn as Mayor Caldwell-elected in 2005. Prior to becoming mayor, he served as a Pine Lawn Aldermen and President of the Board of Aldermen.

Sylvester is a proud Viking of Normandy High School.
