PSY has issued an apology for an anti-American rap he delivered at a 2004 concert. The lyrics spoke of slowly killing US soldiers and their families, and PSY says it was "part of a deeply emotional reaction to the war in Iraq and the killing of two Korean schoolgirls." He adds that he will be "forever sorry for any pain I have caused" and hopes that members of the military "and all Americans can accept my apology."

President Obama shared a holiday handshake with Psy at a “Christmas in Washington” concert Sunday night, despite the raging controversy over violent anti-American lyrics in the Korean pop singer’s past.
Wearing a red sequined top, Psy smiled as he shook hands with the president after performing his viral megahit “Gangnam Style” flanked by dancers wearing reindeer antlers.
Obama, who refrained from doing the Psy’s “sexy horse” dance during the performance, was sure to praise the sacrifice of American troops during a brief speech to the crowd.
“Yes, tonight is about Conan and Diana Ross and Santa and all the other talented folks on this stage,” he said. “But it’s also about the Americans who are spending this holiday in a hospital bed, or a shelter, or protecting our freedom on a battlefield far from home. Let’s keep them in our prayers, and follow Christ’s calling to love one another as He has loved all of us.” Read more
